Default Which is warmer, gloss black or matte black?

I am planning on buying a Shoei Neotec and would like some input on which of the two colors would be cooler and why.

Black is black and temp will be about 160 -180 in the sun on both of them. White or silver is about the only big temp change.

Now if your talking cool as a cool color you would have to ask somebody thats cool.

Gloss is cooler than matte because heat reflects similar to light. BUT, Mr. Aces and Eights is correct in that both are black and will get hotter than other colors. You probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between matte or gloss temperatures, but you will notice a difference with a light color.

I've been shopping for a white, silver or chrome dome for the Savannah summers. Of course nothing is going to keep the humidity off of me.

Maybe not, but that Fat Bob in your signature is very cool. Nice ride.

I meant cool as in temp. I have a vivid black bike and not sure which color to get. I would like the helmet to match but have been thinking about getting white or silver. Just don`t know if white helmet with brown jacket and black bike would look odd??

why would any one care if you wear a white helmet and a brown jacket? as long as it has the moco emblems all over it, these clowns will all think it looks great.

Like the song said, "Black Is Black". Unless they come out with a wind turbine on helmets, they're all going to be hot.

Aces is absolutly undeniably correct. I even gave temp ranges. I have done this test with colors on a hot summer day with a infrared heat gun. If you want to split hairs of gloss over flat, the very high temps of both arnt worth mentioning. Anything over 160* will scald your *** quick.
