Default Possibly dumb AFR question

Lets say your motor is running a little lean. Would it help any to restrict the air intake to "even" it out? I know it isn't the best solution.

On a EFI system it will not work. They calculate air volume and supply fuel based on a graphed map of parameters. Want to change the AFR on EFI bike will need to change more then just the amount of air going in. Change the map parameters is the best way but there are other ways such as tweaking sensor readings like the XEID's but that only works in closed loop mode and for small changes. Can also change fuel pressure among many other things.
Side note added info if you restrict air flow you also restrict max power. Mostly only noticed in WOT (Wide Open Throttle) . Like running a carbed engine with the choke on, but a EFI system will adjust and keep it from running so rich.

I ask because when I bought the bike it had SE slip ons and SE air cleaner, plugs look fairly hot and I have decel pop. Assuming it has the download that is EPA compliant. I took off SE air cleaner and bought a Kurykan Velociraptor that can't be moving as much air due to being smaller than I expected. Really want DK 587 air cleaner. Just wondered if I would be better off with the smaller air cleaner.

I agree go big, more air is usually good air, I gotta suspect that someone made changes and didn't map it or stage it. I'd start there.
