Default getting different wheels.

So im on the hunt for some mags for my 07 street bob. The only ones ive found are a dude selling them for 800 for the pair. Is that an outrageous price? it seems a bit much. Also i know that i have a 1" axle. Im not familiar with earlier modles but i know they have a 3/4 axle, is it possible to switch out bearing so that it will fit my bike?

thanks in advance for any help

I think he is talking about stock 00-05 mags, so 800 is a big much. I paid 120 for my front, 150 for my rear since my bike had spokes when I got it.

$800 for stockers is outrageous. For a set of nice after market wheels that is super inexpensive. I have a set off the sport in a 19x2.15 and 16x3.5 that you can get powder coated if you are interested. Definitely will sell them for a lot less than $800.

watch the classifieds here and ebay for some 06-07 superglide or lowrider mags... 08s and up will also work but you have to change bearings and what not... When I bought lowrider mags I got the pair for less than 400... be patient and a deal will come along..

Thanks, I see plenty of mags off of earlier bikes with the 3/4 axle size I wasn't sure if a simple bearing swap could solve that

I'm talking about stock mags with a 1" axle so I think that's like 06-07. But what I am wondering if axle size is only with the bearings.

The bearings are all teh same OD. Some wheels have to be bored for teh axle and crush tube to fit but aside from that and varying axle spacers you should be fine.

stick with 06 and up, you want a 4.5 inch wide rim for the back, unless you want the skinny look lol

FXD wheels are not POS. 00-06 are cheaper than 06 and up. In fact if you go to Ebay right now you'll see a lot of the earlier model, yet zero of the later. They are more rare than you think they would be.
