Default Dyna Super Glide mirror adjustment

I looked around and couldn't find an answer.

I got an 07 super glide last week and need to loosen the mirror on the right side so I can move the mirror to the side a little more so I so I can adjust it and see more of what's behind me and to the right of me. The way they are now I cant adjust the right side enough to see more behind and to the right of me, I see too much of my right arm. Anybody know how to loosen them so I can adjust them more? Thanks

You might get lucky and get a small amount of adjustment out of them but, in my experience, the stock mirrors aren't positioned well.

If you are moderately broad shouldered and/or wear a bulky jacket then you may only get a view to the rear from about 1/3 of the mirror.

If I was you I'd start looking for some mirrors with longer stems.

Loosen the 5/8 nut on the turn signal and it will let your mirror move. You have to line your signal back up when you tighten it back down

You have to loosen them to swing them outward. I had mine adjusted so I could see my blind spots, and with a little head movement, I could see all the way behind. Mine is a 2011 and had convex mirrors. Yours convex? I have since ditched mine for 3 inch round ones.

Mine is a different style than what your thinking I think. Mine has the turn signals attached to them so it looks like there is 3 or 4 nuts to loosen. I don't want to try to loosen them and turn one of them the wrong way and mess something up.

Unless you have bar-end mirrors, the vast majority of modern-day HD OEM mirrors and most after-market mirrors use a retaining nut at the bottom of the mirror stem to secure the mirror in place (see thumbnail).

Just take a 1/2" socket/wrench, loosen the nut, then pivot the mirror to give you the best view, then tighten the nut. Then adjust the mirror head left/right and up/down by grabbing it on the sides and rotating it to give you the best view.

Even when properly adjusted, part of your elbow/arm is gonna show as previously stated, but you should be able to see enough behind you so that you can be aware of what's in your draft. Hope you get it worked out.

the left side looks like that but the right side looks different. I went by my local dealer a.d they showed me how to do it.
