Fat Bob detachable Sissy bar installation
Went to install my detachable sissy bar on my '08 Fat Bob yesterday. I thought this would be a quick 10 minute task. However, I stripped one of the torque screws that goes into the rear fender mounting bracket. In an attempt to drill the stripped screw and then use a removal bit to extract the stripped screw, the end of the torque screw sheared off. I cannot get the broken screw out of the mounting bracket.
Can anyone suggest a temporary replacement that will work as a rear fender mounting bracket? The part number is 60936-10.
I was thinking of just using a normal nut and bolt, but I'm afraid there isn't enough clearance between the inside fender wall and the rear tire. I'm open for any and all ideas to resolve my dilemma.
Thanks for your feedback!

Those brackets are pretty inexpensive. Why not just pick up a new one with a new bolt?
I learned long ago, never rush installing screws or bolts. As you can see, it's not fun dealing with one that gets cross threaded. Easier to just take your time. If the bolt isn't going in easily, stop and see why.
Good luck!
