Default Stock throttle lock: Who uses it?

Just curious if anyone actually uses the stock throttle lock? I've never felt 100% comfortable with it and frankly, it seems like it would break or at least wear out eventually with much use.

Am I missing something?

The OE throttle lock works fine. It's just not very user friendly. I've seen a kit you can buy that converts the star wheel into a flip lever. Which would make it a little more user friendly.

I keep mine on all the time. Just tight enough that if you take your hand off it stays where it is.
Have one fifty k And no problem.

I use the stock, never had a problem with it other then its just a poor design right from the get go.. It really should be the lever right from factory.

100% agreed. It's a b*tch to access the screw if you're riding in cold weather and thick gloves.

It works fine to give your right hand a rest on a long cruise. I did put one of those inexpensive clamp on levers on mine to make it user friendly. The price has increased,I only paid 12 bucks for mine. http://throttlelocklever.com/

I use it when I'm on the highway for a while or I'm in the city with sh*tty roads and keep it on just enough so that if I hit a good bump it doesn't cause an abrupt opening or closing of the throttle. I do agree though that it is a bit of a pain in the rear to use while riding.

I use mine a lot on the long trips but never around town or when traffic is heavy.

I use mine any time I want. Seems to work good, but it is a bit clumsy when you've got gloves on, a lever conversion would be easy and worth while...
