Default I epoxy painted my lowers.

Huge shout out to Joe for his write up on how to do this process. It can be found here https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...ower-legs.html

I am running on a budget so I was trying to figure out to to black out my lowers for cheap when I came across this mod. It cost me 12 bucks total plus about three hours of labor/prep. The longer you prep the better it tends to turn out. I got rid of the clear with 220, then got a good profile with 400. Then painted. Let sit for a day and reinstall.

What kind of epoxy did you use to get that high gloss look? I used some epoxy on my horn cover and t had more of a satin look

Looks good. I've been wrestling with the idea of doing this as well. from what I can tell from the forum the epoxy holds up well to road wear.

I agree OldTyme. I have been wanting to do this. Just afraid I would mess it up and be screwed haha

Nice job! Looks great

I would like to do this as well but I am unsure if it would look right on my bike being I am doing the black/chrome contrast thing. Let me know what you guys think.
