Default A little Experiment - Touching My Roots

Like a lot of us, I spend a lot of time looking for the mods that suit my personality. Although skulls, eagles, flames, and iron crosses have a huge consumer base, they just aren't for me.

So, I ordered up a few spare skateboard parts and did the second mod toward MY direction. (The first step was the BMX pedals which I love.)

The wheels rotate on skate bearings and have spacers in between.

Like it or don't, it don't matter.

I did take it for a 20 mile ride through some city and country roads just to make sure it is serviceable. Works great. No funky feel or awkward positioning.

Yeah, but it's just the shifter and not the peg. The rotating shifter actually glides really well under your toe. It functions really well. I'd really like to use a sing;e longboard wheel, but they are too big in diameter. I might see if I can get one cut down to about 48mm.

The 80's !!! Man! You're just a pup!!

Just kidding. I'm only a few years ahead of that period. In the 70's in Broken Arrow Oklahoma, I think there were three or four of us who knew what real skating was. I dig the two-tone idea though. The beauty is that you can use just about any wheels and change them in ten minutes.

A brake pedal mod is next if I can find a take-off pedal.

Joe,
You are on the right track. This is an experiment for now. Turning them down to about 1.5" would be perfect. Surprisingly though, they work really well and I haven't noticed any odd feel.
