Question Dyna-tec ignition module

Recently installed one of these adjustable ignition modules on my 02 WG so that it would rev past the 5000 rpm limit set by the factory module .
Made one hell of a difference in the performance of the bike but one major turn-off was the big increase in vibration . Is it possible that this one change caused the big increase in vibration ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated !

You might want to check your motor mounts.

So , you don't think the new excessive vibration could have been caused by the increased advance in the adjustable ignition module ? Nothing else was changed except a drive belt adjustment .
Thanks for the comeback .

is the new vibration constant or just when you go past 5k rpm?

Question

Of course there has always been some vibration always around 47-53 mph in 5-gear but would smooth out from 54 all the way up to 100 . Its just now the vibration has about tripled at that speed & even has quite a bit more every where else , to the point where the footpegs are now vibrating a lot . Something some where has changed to cause that much shaking all of a sudden . Even the seat is vibrating where as before it never did .

might be time for new motormounts as suggested then my friend.when they sag enough for even just a small piece of the motor atachment touchs the frame attachment it will transfer vibrations alot more.

I would check the drive belt as it was just adjusted. If the belt is not right you could wind up with more vibes.....Also check the motor mounts as others have suggested.....

If you are in 5th gear at 47-53 mph your lugging the engine so you will have vibrations.
What was the purpose of raising the limiter from 5,300 to what ever it is now. The cams will not let it pull hard in the upper rpm range any way, the power is already dropping at 5k anyway. That is unless you have a built engine.

Thumbs up

Thanks guys but my 02WG isn't a 6-speed so 50 mph in 5th gear ain't luggin it in my humble opinion .
Swapping back to the stock module & rechecking drive belt adjustment seems reasonable though . Bike pulls strong all the way to ignition cut-off & the performance improvement feels equal to my last Harley bought new in 88 . It was an FXR Low Rider Sport with Crane cam . Of course that bike had NO vibration except for idling . This Twinkie surprised me .
Now , if I can just smooth this baby out a little I'll be lookin for a nice street cam !
Thanks for all the come backs .
