Default *STEP by STEP* '13 BOB Handlebar Swap

Thank you JMiers for the bars so I could write up this review!

Well for all you wondering what its like to change out internal wired bars, have no fear. I just did a complete bar swap and needed nothing more than a couple hand tools. No wire cutting needed, Harley down sized the connectors and they go right through the bars!!! Took about 2hrs with all the picture taking and beers. Enjoy

Tools needed, these which includes a T25 Torx and 1/4" allen.

1. First setup your bars you are going to swap over. I used some string and couple nuts to help weight it down. Just slide it through the openings and give it a couple shakes. Goes right through

2. Pull frame plugs that cover the wires in the frame and work them out slowly, don't tug or pull or too hard, they are just tucked in there..

3. No need to take off the mirrors, turn signals, levers, clutch cable, throttle calbes etc. Leave it all attached, just remove the t25 torx screws that hold the assembly's together and slide them off the handle bars.

be careful and keep master cylinder upright.

finish sliding off the hand controls as a whole

next i used a big flat blade to dislodge the grip, go around in like 4 diff spots like a clock.

naked bars!!

Remove top clamp and swap bars over, make sure to put a towel on the tank to prevent dings

center bars using the internal wiring hole and even it out between the clamps

Next up, attach wiring harness with a small zip ty and cover with electric tape to ease sliding through the bars. Pull it through and Vawlaa!!

Then just start re-assembly and put everything back together.

Then add one happy G-friend who loves to clean up the bike and wipe all the finger prints off after finishing

Good job,,Another way to pull the rope through is to tie a knot at the end of the rope,Stuff it in the bars and use a shop vac or house vac at the other end and suck it through,,Works great and it's fast,,Old School
