Default Crankcase breather kit on S&S carb problem

Ok...I bought a breather kit from JP cycles....
took off my carb cover and back plate...kit fits great. Put the back plate on and it wont fit since the old breather bolt holes on the back plate get in the way.

Bad thing if I cut them off the carb backer? The only thing they were supporting were the breather bolts.

If you could post a pic that would to get answers, are you installing an S&S aircleaner on a stock carb or on an S&S carb, I have installed the S&S breather on my stock carb and had no issues.

This is the problem..
Installing the breather kit behind the carb but the backing plate has the breather bolt holes that get in the way.

Can I cut them off without having any issues?

Can't you use the bolts that came with the backing plate instead of the breather kit bolts to secure everything in place?

Can't....the kit creates a 90* angle which I need since the carb cover covers the breather bolt.

I'm not following you. How did the S&S ac mount before and didn't it vent into the carb? Ones I've seen used banjo fitting adapters and breather bolts.

The original owner had rubber tubes about 3" long coming from the stock breathers directly into the carb cover. But the carb cover started cutting into the tubes and blocked half the breather bolt. Contacted JP cycle and they told me this would work.

I put the new breather kit on and it fits nicely, but the carb backer wont fit now with the brackets you see. Tried to fit it other ways but the backer plate wont seat right.

You have to bolt the carb support bracket to the breather bolts. You cant just have the AC/Carb hanging on the intake flange without support from the breather bolts.
