Learning about stage 1 kits
Had the dyna for a while now and I think it's time to upgrade to stage one. For a long time I didn't know what it even meant. But with a little research I think it's worth it.
I already have a TH, and I need to find a good air filter (think ill get a forward facing k&n air filter). But when it comes to the carb tuner kit, I need to do some more research and see if some are better than others.
Is there any maintenance I can do while the carbs are apart, aside from cleaning? I'm going to swap out most the cracked tubing, the bike is a 99 and fresh lines will do good. Also the choke cable wont tighten any more and I'll be replacing that. My accelerator diaphragm was already replaced 2K miles ago.
I figured after I get the air filter and carb kit, ill get it tuned. Or should I upgrade anything else before I do?

I wouldn't go with a dynojet kit - complete waste of money. You will get as good or better results with swapping out the stock jets for the standard stage-1 ones of a 45 pilot and 185 main.
The dynojet kit will set you back $100+ and using the jets instead maybe $10.
The dynojet kits always rely on throwing fuel at the engine and so running unnecessarily rich i.e. your MPG will suffer much more than needed.
