Default License plate holder or fender mount?

I'll be getting my new street bob in about 3 weeks and im getting all the bits together . For the life of me i cant decide on the licens plate mount. The stock side mount looks bleh, vertical mount is out in Cali, cops are cracking down. The roto-plate looks great horizontally but vertically it doean't tuck in nicely. Cycle vision looks pretty good but i am almost beginning to think I should just mount to on the rear fender. Thats where my street glide has it, thats where my scrambler has it, never bothered me.

For any of you guys with wide mounts/horizontal, ever had issues with cornering?

Any of guys have better ideas?

I've got kuryakyn horizontal side mount, easy and clean install, bright led lighting and I've never scraped turning, and I've hit my foot peg turning since having it. Also a durable set up, actually tipped the bike over with it on and nothing but some scrapes.

I made my own. I didn't like the side mount options and the HD relocation is bulky.

Did you remake it from the original one you made SLV or is that the same one? I like that a lot, looking to do something since I got my short stalks now and want to move the plate.

It's the same one. It could be made better in a 2.0 version, but I'm happy with it.

It's just a 3/4" wide, 1/8" thick piece of steel. I have a sketch of it somewhere.

The spacing for the mount holes is wrong. I need to change the sketch.

It would probably look better if it followed the tire contour rather than having square corners.

Yea I saw you original post when you got it made. Thanks. Wonder if I could get him to make me one as well with the correct holes.

Just lee the forward holes blank and match drill them during install. I thought it would need a second fastener, but the single signal bolt holds it fine. The forward hole is just for wires.

I tried to write to Richard but didn't get an answer. I have another project and need a machinist.
