Default reflector question.

I was just about to remove the reflectors off the forks of my newer to me 06 street bob. Anyone know if they will be discolored bad under the reflectors? I think it looks terrible with them on, but if the forks are gonna be discolored its not worth it I guess. Thanks

Once you take them off you won't be able to tell they were ever on. Take a hair dryer to them and then get some weed wacker line underneath the adhesive and use a sawing motion to take them off. Follow up with goo gone.

Well, it is hard to say. If you remove them new, probably ok. Remember the forks are clear coated, paint and clear could discolor over time. Like tank emblems, some ppl have marks after removal and some don't.

Awesome. I've read a few threads on taking them off but couldn't find anything about older bikes and discoloring so I figured it would be fine. Thanks

just take it slow and warm it up really good first otherwise there will be a lot of goo left behind. You'll get the feel for it when you're down there. I took mine off at about 5k and there was no fading or anything.

Even if there is a little discoloration it won't be anything compared to plastic orange reflectors. You might be the only one to notice, if there is anything to notice at all.

+1 on that. I used a hair dryer and fishing line, then some weasel **** to get any left over residue off.

Just use it as an excuse to polish your fork sliders to a nice bright shiny finish. That's what I did. No discoloration for me, but I like the shiny look better than the dull look they were.
