Default Any tips for quiet baffle install?

I'm going to be installing quiet baffles on my short shots today. Does anyone have any tips that might help me? are the baffles difficult to remove? I'm the most concerned about not being able to get the old baffles out.

I think it's pretty straight forward. Be careful to not strip the screws is all I can think of.

If they are not too old it should be easy. It's later on when the carbon builds up inside the pipes, and rust sets itself on the screws .

I just got done. It was pretty simple. The hardest part was getting the fiberglass wraping to go in. I'm loving the new sound. I think I'm going to enjoy my ears not ringing for hours after a ride.

Wrap some thin wire 22 gauge or so here and there around the fiber glass wrapping. It makes it easier to get them inserted and doesn't hurt a thing.

My advice, DONT do it, they run terrible. I tried em in my 06 street Bob and took em right out.

Can you please elaborate? I took it for a test ride after I finished and I feel like it runs stronger now than with the old ones in there. What didn't you like about them?

My bike lost about 7 hp on the top end, with minimal gains on the bottom of the RPM range. The short shots are top end RPM pipes, choking the flow on them makes them the worst combo possible. I chopped the cork out of the quiet baffles and put them back in and liked them alot better. Kind of an in between the standard baffle, and quiet baffles.

I also ran torque cones in mine, installed at the head flange. I dont know if the torque cones made any difference or not, but the modified quiet baffles sounded great and it ran right. Still had to wear ear plugs though. If you want quiet performance you picked the wrong pipes. A 2 into 1 is much quieter and kills the short shots in the performance department.
