Default Cost of putting a cam in (dealer)

I,m going to have a cam put in at my 1000 mile service .
I,m not going to do /try this myself . It will be a Harley Cam unless the Warranty will let me use something other ?

The Bike is a 2012 WideGlide with a 103 in it .
What should it cost ( parts -- labor)

Reason I ask is I have a neighbor that is a H-D wrench and he will do it if I ask . But I will be paying ether way .

Just a thought -
Have the dealer do it unless you trust your neighbor skills with no reservations.
If anything goes south it could ruin your friendship.....and you gotta live next to him a long time.
Good Luck!

Dealer will charge tween $1500-$2000, parts and labor. Seen some quotes in here for more than that though.

This is right on the money my dealer quoted me 1700. I said no way and had a local Indy install the hit I baught from fuel moto and everything said and done with a dyno tune will be just over 1000. My warranty is up tho so I did not care about which cam. If I were you just wait till your warranty its up and then throw one in of your choice. Unless you have the extended warranty then that's a different story.

My dealer quoted me 1500 (tuned) this past week. I'm glad you posted this because I have been wandering if that was a decent price quote they gave me.

As of right now the bike is stock (all but V&H Short Shots) If I do the cam I will also do an intake . My neighbor is also a good friend (His Father and I grew up together)
He has been a H-D wrench for ten years or more he also runs the Dyno . Yes I trust him 100%

There isn't a lot you can screw up doing cams and the warranty is probably already void due to the V&H pipes so go with your neighbour if you trust him 100%.

Holy ish....1500...1700...2000 for cams install and tune? Glad I live close to one of the best indy tuners in my area. Not to mention I paid $250 for the install and $250 for the tune.
