Default A beautiful day of riding ruined!

Went on a nice ride to Ventura today with some buddy's. The weather was perfect beginning in the high 80's as we rode out to the coast where it dropped to the high 60's. Then my wife's idiot husband did something really stupid to spoil it. As we parked the bike I let the bike roll back to the curb.
HUGE mistake! The rear fender fascia hit the high curb and broke. DUH! It snapped the lower edge and broke both side panels. This is what it looked like AFTER I pulled it back out from the tire.

Thank God I have a spare which I was smart enough to have painted when I had the rear fender and bags painted. I am hoping the small scrape on the lower light lens doesn't show.
Lesson learned, DO NOT allow the bike to roll back to the curb...EVER!!!

I'm sure that if you have a poll and ask members here you will have an equal amount of people who have, to a degree, done something silly like that themself to those that lie about it. OK, maybe a few who have not.
Don't beat yourslf up over it. At least you have the spares to "fix" it.

I would not be so sensitive about it and enjoyed the ride.

Sorry to hear that, that thing isn't cheap.
BTW, I saw a few posts from you, wonder why this bagger guy posts in Dyna forum. Finally realized you have a Dyna/Roadglide cyclevision conversion lol. Got it!

Yikes! That blows. Thank God we keep learning stuff right up until we die.
Anyway, there was a poll taken about who parks their bikes in gear (instead of neutral). I leave mine in gear, but I have also rolled back to the curb as well.
Thank you for sharing....because now I'll be more careful. I owe you one in advance.

Did you kick "you wife's idiot husband's" butt? You should have! Maybe now, he'll watch it when he's backing up.

If my fender came that low I would have done this a bunch of times!

Yeah but good thing is it wasn't me who "fubared" since I never do stupid things because I have a scape goat for that! Bad thing is every time he messes up it costs me money!
Can't take life too serious, in the end we all die. Best we can do is fail forward and not make the same mistake more than twice!
