Default ? About removing the writing off stock air cleaner cover

Does anyone know if the ring on the stock a/c covers that has the writing on it come off? I thought the writing would be a sticker but mines not. Does that round ring pop off or something? Thanks

I thought it was a decal that you could heat up with a hair dryer and take off. If it's different on your bike you can replace the ring. Take it apart and check it out.

LMFAO! Like putting salt to a leach in my mental image!
To the civilbob, most times they are just stuck on, take yours off, it's one bolt tin the middle, if nothing sticks out of the inside then it's just glues on.

Ya normally I would just yank it right off. Tried that with the front reflectors just about a week ago. Didn't work so well.

A simple hair dryer may loosen it up enough for you to pry it off with no danger of bluing the cover or making your chrome peel.

Did you use a length of fishing chord and some heat?

used my wifes hair dryer and a plastic putty knife on mine...came off pretty easy then glued it to a 5" round "chrome" door **** stopper I found screwed to a wall at work...then stuck the whole thing on my big sucker....then spent forever scraping the old glue off the factory cover in case I decide to try and sell it with my other factory take off stuff....
