Default Help!!

I have a 2012 street Bob and i hit a pretty good bump the other day and my gas gauge dropped out. I've come to find that later that night i noticed one of my brake lights is also out. I checked all of the obvious wiring and i can't seem to find anything. I did just put a lowering kit on it so is it possible that the tire hit the harness and ripped something out? Could it be a fuse? I'm lost!!
If anyone had this problem, please fill me in..
Thanks

i would bet you did rip it out. i did mine about 4 times before i finally said screw it and ran it though the fender rail supports... you can just remove the lower shock bolts, jack that sucker up and take a look

This may be a stupid question but did you check that the light bulb is still good?

The light bulb is good plus the gas gauge is out...I'm about 210 pounds and only dropped it 1 inch????
What is required in fixing it? new harness?

You most likely definitely shred that wiring under the rear fender. If it is you can cut and solder some new wiring in to fix it, then do what Joe said and run the wiring in the side rails.

1" is a lot when it comes to suspension.

Did you have a look at the fuse? I mean before you go get under the bike and jack it up and all. Also remove the tail light cover remove the bulb and try another, they're only 3 $ at your local parts place.

I was 240lbs at one point and my softail was lowered 2" in the rear and I never had any issues, of course it road like a hard tail so maybe it just wasn't moving much at all. I would run them through the side rails too.
