Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've posted, but I am in need of some assistance. I finally got around to installing my Switchback footboard kit on my 2011 Superglide. I've had Vance and Hines Straightshots installed since new. Well, the right side footboard rear mounting bracket is hitting the exhaust. I need to know if anyone has installed the footboard kit with a stock Superglide exhaust. If so, I will go this route with slip ons instead of spending another $700 on another exhaust. BTW, I do not still have my stock exhaust, so I can't try this myself. I am also considering just buying a stock Switchback exhaust and gutting the cat and adding a slip on to it. Thanks in advance.

 

I just put foot boards on my '12 FXDB, stock head pipes- no problem.

I think I just decided to grind and reinforce the offending part.

 

I have the kit with stock headpipes and Rinehart slipons.

 

I have the kit with D&D FatCats, no issues.

 

Mine fit with the stock exhaust with no issues.
I recently added a Rush 2 into 1 and needed to add spacers about 5/8 to move out the floorboard brackets. Rush supplied these and it works fine. I added them to the other side too to balance things out.

 

I have exactly the same problem you had....can't fit right side footboard because I have V&H Straightshots fitted.

How did you resolve your problem, did grinding the exhaust shield do the trick or did you end up changing the exhaust?

Footboards with rineharts here although close no problems....however if i try and flip the right board up it does hit the exhaust....i dont know if it does this on any other setup
