My new Boss Bags hit my exhaust..ugh...
I just got my new #31 Boss Saddle Bags for my 2006 Dyna wideglide. They came with the hardware so that they are quick release along with my quick release sissy bar.
Here is the problem. I have a Rinehart 2 into 1 exhaust on the bike. Its the Rinehart with the HUGE tail pipe opening. The largest they offer. The bag is in contact with the last 6 inches of the pipe. I don't see any way to adjust the bag or move the pipe down.
My question is... does anybody make a heat shielding type device for the pipe? Would it work if I wrapped the end of the pipe with exhaust wrap?
Does it matter if the bag (they are real heavy leather) is touching the end of the pipe?
Thanks!

I didn't buy the bags new. I bought them privately and can't return them.
I talked to Boss Bags and they told me the only thing I could do is either get new pipes or bend the Rinehart exhaust and the bracket so that it doesn't hit the bag. He told me that the bag can be as close as 3/4" with no problem.
It doesn't sound very appealing to bend my $800.00 Rinehart 2 into 1 exhaust.
