Default 2013 Fat Bob Catalytic Converters????

Got a new 2013 Fat Bob. Where are the cat converters located. I put some slip on's, on the bike but they are not very loud. Are the cats located in the head pipes or something???

where the two head pipes come together, between the cam chest area and the oil dipstick.

If you saw the material used you'd understand. It's amazing anything gets past it

I could be wrong but i think it requires cutting the cat part out, drilling out all the material (it's this weird foam stuff) then welding that part of the pipe back onto the header. . Might not have to do the cutting part haven't seen it done on the tommy gun exhaust before just touring bikes.

Might be easier to find a 2008-2009 header on eBay or on the classifieds and making that work for you. They have no cat in them. Your o2 sensor's would need an adapter though I believe.

Would be hard to get a hole saw in there. Most take off the pipe (baggers) and then cut out the backside, pull out the cat and re weld it. If you are paying a shop, get a estimate. Probably cheaper to buy a new exhaust.

I had my SE slip-ons for a year. A tad more rumble, but you can really feel how that CAT restricts air flow. New exhaust, a lot more power.

Good luck if you cut it out and post pics.
