i want to do the wide glide fender swap onto my fatbob. trying to figure out how to pass local laws (no side mount licence plate, no brake/turn signals).

So figured: greatbikegear licence plate relocation brake for the plate.
Now i need a tail/brake light.
What options are there for the wide glide fender?

Or does something like fit properly?

I thought the horizontal plate were legal in all states as long as they have a light on the tag

 

Australia. Side plates are illegal pretty much. 45 degree angle of viewing for the plate or some such.

 

nvm figured something out

 

Just get the HD Chopped Fender Edge tail light. Its made for that fender. I use it on my Fat Bob with a WG fender. I also run an HD R/S/T module for the signals so I have extra visable brake lights. Im also running a Figure Machine side plate mount. You should check them out. You can run it vert or horizontal and it comes with a choice of different color LED lighting.

Pretty much arrived on this post really late so I hope you're all around still. I am wanting to get rid of the dodgy rear light set up on my 2010 wide glide but can't find a rear light assembly that will fit it. I see that you got the assembly right but is that the wideglide fender that comes stock on AU models?

I went to the harley shop today and now I am even more confused than before!

I have added a photo of the rubbish set up thats on it now and I hope to add the light and then add the side mount number plate to finish the job.

Nice ride, i just done the custom dynamics - dynamic clusters led which go in the indicators

If you get riid of sparto brake light you will have holes in fender and you will have to light up the number plate still, i not sure if side mount has light on it

You maybe better to buy a rear fender from the US as it wont have holes in fender

Hey man thanks for the quick reply. I was thinking of a new fender but I've got custom paint on mine so pretty much snookered now. I was thinking of dropping the side mount plate kit on but then harley said it won't fit the one we have! So now back to looking at the kurokyn or the figure machine that spankdog posted and then drop a wire down to it.

The brake light set up on it now is killing me, looks shocking!

How do the LED's come up?
