Default easy brackets vs ghost brackets

Opinions? Which keeps your bags closest to the bike for a sleeker look?

I have an '03 wide glide and purchased a set of easy brackets for my bags. I used a grinder to cut off the stock HD mounting plate rivets, removed the plate and attached the easy bracket back plate with the supplied bolts and locknuts. The "gap" between the fender rails and the saddlebags is the width of the easy brackets docking plate and is approximately 1" - 1.5". I have not seen the ghost brackets product in person but I don't think you can get much closer than were I am at and still have a locking mechanism. I hope this helps, good luck !

I have had Easy Brackets on my 05 Dyna FXD and my 09 FXDF. Not really impressed by them but they get the job done. I just use throwover saddlebags these days.

Both Easy and Ghost leave the bags off the bike a fair amount, pretty much the same. I have easy brackets but will be picking up some leatherpros FXDXT repo bags soon and ditching the easy brackets and bags.

Unless you are permanently leaving bags on the bike, I would not worry about a little gap between bags and bike. Clearance is a "good" thing. Myself....I only put the hard bags on the bike when going on long trips. The ease of install/removal of the easy or ghost brackets really makes them the better choice for me. I love being able to travel, get to a hotel room, and with a key turn, get rid of the bags. AND the docking hardware left over, when the bags are not on the bike, is really not noticeable unless you know what you are looking for.

I have had throw overs, Under seaters, supported, unsuported, leather and pleather bags in the past, and they have always fallen short in one way or another.
