Default Advise on cam choice Woods 777 or???

Looking for advise on cam choices. 2007 streetbob 103 stage one A/F, Thunderheader, Power commander. Looking hard at the Woods 777. Is there other cams out there that are comparable to these with similar results or better? Possibly doing head work as well.

look at either a tman 555 or even better a tman 590. the 777 needs to much compression to work right.

Whats compression now? If you do headwork for sure, set comp at 10.5/10.7 and woods 777 or 888 are hard to beat.

This is going to be a fall/winter project. So still deciding on compression rate.

I am looking at the 777s too, been doing my homework on all the effects/implications of motor work. I would think the Woods 555 would be pretty good if you were not doing headwork, but I would not chose the 777s or 888s without headwork - you will want those up around 10.5 to 1.

Are you planning on installing yourself? If not, then I would spend some time deciding on who you want to do the work and plan the build with them. If you are going to do it yourself, I would give Fuel Moto a call, they have great customer support to help you with the project plus they know the PC and all the Woods cams extremely well.

If you are not doing any additional motor work go with the TW 222

id go with the tw 222 for that down low torque, even with the triple 5's you will need a compression bump to get best results.....

Anyone here use Cometic .030 gaskets for that extra compression for running a bigger cam?

Yep. Woods 555 likes a little bump in compression or you will have a lag off idle. 777 with headwork would be my vote as it is "a 555 on steroids"!

Yes most likely doing headwork as well as possibly doing some Carillo pistons. If money allows that. I ride pretty aggressive and constantly in the higher rpm range.
