Default Installing Axle Mount Plate Holder

Well I got in my Road6Customs vertical axle mount plate holder today. I feel as if my question is stupid and common sense but was reading some conflicting information.

When installing them, I need to remove the Clip, Washer, and Axle Nut. When removing the axle nut, will I need to have the bike on a jack?

Also does my 09 Dyna need a special adapter to be compatible with a standard motorcycle jack?

No, you should be fine just removing the nut. I see no need to have it on a jack unless you are removing the whole axle.

I had mine on and off many times while fitting my bags to my bike. I just left the bike on the ground and removed the clip, nut and washer installed the bracket, washer and nut, torqued the nut and installed the clip. I feel that as long as you don't move the bike, nothing will move out of spec. Just make sure when you tighten the nut, you have the bracket where you want it.

It depends on your jack whether you will need adapters or not.
