Removal of the Rear Fender on an '07 Street Bob

let's see... Seat off, jack under bike, undo wiring harness plug, undo rear turn sig connectors that plug into the brake light, shocks off so you can jack bike up enough to get at rear fender bolts which bolt in from the inside (mine don't, they come in from the outside so it's much easier). Take all fender/ rear sig b
bolts out, that should be about it

your fender bolts mount from the outside and there is a mounting bracket inside the fender. Be careful not to scratch the the fender covers, use painters tape. before you mess with any wiring disconnect your negative battery cable from the battery, I also pull the main fuse before doing the battery cable. your signal lights do screw from the inside with a small cable that runs thru lamp support, some models have a conduit type channel that keeps the wire from contacting the tire. You can remove the wires from the conduit by spreading it, be careful. Like said before detach connectors at tail lamp and pull thru the opening in the frame. Do the signals before the front. You will have to take off the upper shocks if you plan on taking off the frame covers. you will need to raise the rear to get at the signal wiring. unplug the tail lamp cable from the TSM.

Just like tat2u says... You need to jack her up, and take off the rear shocks. Pull up the jack a little further and then you are able to get the bolts out that holds the fender... If you dont do it like that the bolts will hit the rear tire before they get all the way out. Good luck.
You don't need to take the shocks right off, just drop out the bottom mounting bolts. I've only had my fender off when I did my 200 mod so had shocks right off anyway. Just makes it so much easier
Cheers

The shocks don't need to come off just to get the fender off. The only things holding the fender on are the bolts in the frame rail that screw into the mounting bracket on the inside of the fender(both sides) and the rear signals and I was able to get to everything without jacking the bike up.
