Hello all, Just trying to figure out if the sheet metal on my wife's '08 Street Bob would bolt onto a '14 Switchback? She has a custom paint set and the colors of the '14 bikes are not impressing me. I'm thinking about buying her the new bike and transferring the old tins to it...Thoughts???

Additionally keep in mind the FLD rear fender has mounts on it for the removable bags. In this case I think it's more trouble than it's worth.
Thanks MATTVA, I was thinking the bags would connect to the fender supports and therefore they would line up. I'm not sure why it wouldn't line up as the chassis's should be the same? At least I don't remember any changes in the Dyna line since 08...

I'm talking about the support on the fender. See the attached pic. Also look at the dash. It uses the Super Glide Custom/Fat Bob console/speedo/ignition etc. Your '08 Street Bob tank doesn't fit these parts if I remember correctly.
I think the best course. .sell the tins, buy the bike, get a spare set of tins for it, or just buy them from Harley in primer coat and have those painted.
Speaking from personal experience messing with this stuff. .if you plan on buying a brand new bike to change all that out. .get a used one instead. Or just be happy with what comes with it. It's going to be expensive to change out, frustrating, and require a good deal of fab work. .besides the whole look of the Switch Back is those fenders. If you remove those and somehow fab up the Street Bob tins on it. .kinda ruins the bike.
