Intake Question For Carb'd Bikes
I'm looking into putting the Screamin Eagle 90 Degree Intake on my '02 FXD
(not sure of the exact part name, but it has the exposed cone K&N A/C)
My bike has V&H Short Shots, other than that its a stock 88" bike.
Am I looking at a re-jet?
What kind of carburetor work am I looking at?
I am doing this both for performance, and because I cannot stand the look of the OEM A/C.
Thanks in advance

If you're running V&H, your jetting should be close. Make sure you open the vacuum port up on the slide to 1/8". You can hog-out the port a little more .... and it will open the slide faster, maybe too fast and then ya got flat spots and a wacky carb. Slow speed jet 45/46 and 180/185 main jet. Using the stock needle, add 1 very thin shim washer under the needle e-ring, to lift the needle up just slightly. It's like moving the e clip up 1/2 a notch. Idle mixture screw needs to be set. Turn it in till it LIGHTLY seats. Back it out 2 1/2 turns will get ya in the ballpark. Fire it up and fine tune it. FYI - Yost Power Tube vs CV Performance Atomizer Tube - get the Yost. CVP cost less, but not as big of a bang for your Biker buck.
