Question Shocks for 2013 Street Bob-- short ridder

Thinking of up grading my OEM shocks. Keep bottoming out even at 3-4 setting.
I believe the shocks are 11 inch.
Would appreciate if some members would chime in and give me some advise. What brands and model numbers. Tons of progressive shocks on E bay, but not sure which one and model or even if there is a better brand. Also where I should order.
Thanks,
Roger

Your stock shocks are 12". I cant make any suggestions on lower shocks but the lower you go the less travel you will get.

Are you sure you dont have them adjusted to the loose settings instead of stiff? May be a dumb question but you would be surprised how many people F that up.

I ordered a set of JRI's from Howard at Motorcyclemetal.com! They are the A13- 13" with a 4" stroke! Thease shocks are NC machined from Billet! Haven't got them yet so can't say any more! If you are bouncing around on yer pucks as I was, then this may be the solution!

Doesn't the actual Progressive website still have their fitment chart? Yeah, just checked - they do.

11" HD Shocks that fit:

412-4045B/C

430-4045B/C

12" HD Shocks:

412-4044B/C
430-4044B/C

They have lots of higher end models.... just a couple - Those are the 'Heavy Duty' versions. Stiffer springs.

Unless you are 250lbs, stay away from heavy duty. I just pulled a set of 412 HD and installed the 444. the 412 HD put me into a death wobble a few times on corners when I hit a bump.

Progressive 412 11" - low end
Progressive 430 11" - much better
Progressive 444 11" - new technology - This is what I run (I am vertically challenged as well)

Burly is owned by Progressive.

If you have a deep pocket go Ohlin or jri.

For a good price CALL Direct Cycle Parts - a site sponsor.

Chit, you are half right. I used a flash light and after removing saddle bags and looking up the tube I found the right side is at setting 4 and the left at setting two. I moved the left to setting 4. Will try it out on Friday and get back to you. May have to move to setting 3 if to harsh a ride. Have no idea why settings were not equal . Its a relitively new bike and I only adjusted them once making sure I did only one click clock wise.
I also measured the shock and its 11 1/2 inches from center of upper bolt to center of lower bolt. Most reply say I have 12 inch shocks. Will check with dealer tomorrow to get their imput.
Thanks for the advise. And I am glad I took it.

If you take the shocks off, they will measure 12" center to center. There is some compression when measured on the bike.
