Gear driven twin cam best way to go?
I got a 2000 wide glide I got to have my cam adjusters upgraded for next year I got 15,000 miles on my wide glide right now I want to put a gear driven cam but I also heard you may have to change the pinion gear to where if you go with the hydraulic its good for 50,000 and the pinion gear can be a bit sloppy and still be ok if you go hydraulic cause the chain is sloppy ...Sounds to me go with gears but sounds like it could cost a lot more ...its probably at least a $2000.00 job

For gears, you need to measure your crank run out to make sure your in spec for gears, as well as hope that it does not get any worse, which it could. Dropping $2000 in a 00 bike is a lot.
For the hydraulic you can do that regardless of the run out. Still expensive.
Or you could get new tensioner shoes off ebay for about $40 and do the job yourself. I have a set in mine now, changed them about 2k ago and probably won't check them again for quite some time. Expect this material to last much longer than the OEM.
