Default Wide Glide in the rain

I'm seriously considering getting a new WG, 2013, but have been
reading a lot about handling issues with it.

In particular some people complain about how it handles in the rain
and making sharp corners, something every city rider has to do
all the time and I will be using this bike 99% in the city, live in Houston
TX, so both these issues are of considerable concern to me.
I am aware of the fork angle and how it affects parking lot maneuvering.

Could you please elaborate on these handling issues, or maybe tell me if
this is just one of those over-hyped issues you only read about on the
internet?

Much appreciated.

The wideglide handles differently going slow...you will get used to it. Just takes some seat time...

I've got a 02 WG and have been caught in the rain a lot. I've not noticed any difference between it and my last bike that had 28 degree of rake.

Riding in the rain sucks on any bike, I'm in Florida and it happens a lot.

I've read a lot of complaints/concerns about the WG. I think it can be summed up in saying:

The Wide Glide is a rider's bike. If you are an experienced and confident rider you shouldn't have a problem with it. If you are a novice, wannabe, or beginner I wouldn't recommend it.

Since I have know idea of your riding abilities this is not directed towards you, OP. It's just a general statement, and JMO.

I cannot say that the WG is a poor handler, however that 21" narrow front wheel/tire does seem to wanna "wash out" at times. And as for rain, my bicycle and Jeep dont even do well in rain.

The WG is an absolute joy to ride. I have upgraded the suspension but I would do the same to any Dyna I owned. I installed Progressive shocks and a Ricco Intimator. My bike keeps up with BMWs, and any Harley out there. If you want to look at a Harley that is hard to handle that would be the Duece. You really have to muscle those suckers around

I've rode in the rain more than I would like to (just got caught in the rain today). I haven't noticed any problems, other than the rain. I agree with HarDlife.
