Default 1st oil,primary/tranny change findings...

2006 Wideglide. It has 7100 miles on it. I bought it from the HD dealership last year with 5200 miles on it. They told me they did a complete service including all new fluids.
This is the first time I changed everything since I bought it.
I decided to go with Mobil 1 full synth 20/50 V-Twin in the engine and primary and Redline with Shockproof transmission oil for the tranny.

My service manual says 2.5 quarts in the motor, 32 ounces in the tranny and 45 ounces in the primary.

I was surprise to see what actually came out of the bike.

I warmed up the motor and when I dumped all three holes this is what came out...

2 quarts out of the engine including what was in the filter.
24 oz came out of the tranny
28 oz came out of the primary

I put the following back in...

2 quarts in the motor. The dipstick is reading 3/4 up in the hash marks with the motor cold and the bike on the jiffy stand. I will warm it up tomorrow and check it while its hot and adjust if needed.

On the primary, I leveled the bike out and I filled it up until it was just at the edge of the inspection cover hole which is what the manual stated. It took between 43 and 44 ounces.

I put a full 32 ounces in the tranny and the dipstick is reading full with the bike level.

I know this isn't an exact science but does this seem right?

You should find a service manual on Ebay.
With my 09 SB it's 2 1/2 in the engine a QT in both the Primary and Tranny.

The manual i have is a clymer. It clearly states 45 ounces in the primary. Everything i am reading online says between 32 and 38 ounces. This means i have between 6 and 10 ounces roo mech. Should i remove some. I filled to the edge of the primary opening with the bike level

I think too much oil in the primary. How does it shift? and how hard is it to find neutral?

My manual says to fill the primary between 32 and 38 ounces, or until the oil is viable and is just below the clutch plates.
My bike is an 08 CVO Roadking, not sure if the capacity is different than yours but I don't think it is.

I just changed the fluids in all three holes last night. 1 QT in Primary, 1 QT in Tranny, 2.5 QT's in motor. I did the primary with a 2x4 under the kickstand and a QT brought it to the proper level. I believe you have too much oil in your primary if you have 43 or 44 ounces in it.

Thats what I don't understand. I set the bike level, I poured in the primary fluid until ti got to the edge of the inspection cover opening. It took 43 ounces. The Clymer service manual states 45 ounces. I am checking online and everybody seems to state that 32 ounces is correct for a 5 speed but 38 ounces is correct for a 6 speed. I have a 6 speed.

I just want to know what the correct amount of primary fluid is for a 2006 Dyna 6 speed.
I'll dump it out today and refill with the correct amount.
