Default 16" apes on '12 Street Bob FXDB

Is there enough slack on stock cables to be able to make 16" apes work with a stock setup? Wondering if I can get away with not buying the cable kit... Thanks

I have a 2013 FXDP and there wasn't enough slack on any of the cables (except brake without running it back through the grommet above the fender). There was however enough extra wiring. I ordered all +6 Barnett cables individually from Dennis Kirk. They work good and the lengths look good but I also left enough slack to add another couple inches of riser if I want to at a later date.

nope! but if you can find someone that has an 06 you can use those stock cables

i ran 16's with 2.5 risers with stock brake/clutch/throttle, did have to rebend the break and solder in extensions but it worked

Nope and Nope...Kinda. Mine is a 12 SB with 16" narrow Apes. I hade to replace the clutch, and throttle cables (I used Burly cable kit.), but the rest seemed to be fine by a hair, I couldn't have done 18th's without adding to the electronic cables though. I would also think that if your using wide Apes, your not going to make it on the electronic side.

Great bike for the island though, no reason for a big bagger over there, low, dirty, and fast!
