Default Scratched pipes

I have a 2012 street bob with black V&H short shots. My beautiful wife backed into it and knocked it over in the driveway. Thankfully the damage is actually not that bad but the pipes are scratched fairly badly and given they are black it stands out.

I am guessing I am going to have to live with it a while... But thought I would check her for suggestions.

Thank you!

Just remove the heat shields feather out the scratches by sanding them next you scuff the rest of the shield with 800 grit paper then paint them with a high heat paint. Or you could take them to a powder coater and have them coated with black ceramic. cost about $100 - 150 most places.

I agree with powder coating the shields if money allows, or just paint for now and powdercoat when you get the cash.

I agree with re-coating too. I recently had to do the same thing. I tried touching them up, but it wasn't even close to matching. The new ceramic coating on mine is much more durable than the factory coat too. I have yet to have any problems with rocks or road debris chipping it.

Are you guys serious> They can actually re-coat pipes with ceramic? Because I am thinking this winter to get my shields and and tailpipe done in black chrome.
