Made some quiet baffles for my short shots
My Bob's getting dyno'd on Friday so I thought I would have a go at improving the baffles.
I'll throw up a pic later but all I did was make them as long as possible, very short end sections with a 8.5" length of 1.5" OD stainless perf tube between them and wrapped the outer with fibreglass muffler packing.
Very happy with the sound, still not quiet by a long shot but much better quality sound. to me, they are way better than the V&H quiet baffles (which I ran for a while before they fell apart in side the pipes??)
If it's not hyperlinked just Copy and past the address in to your browser...
Cheers...

Maybe you can help me out... I just bought a fat bob with the same pipes. I have no idea what baffles are in there now and am new to HDs, pipes, baffles, etc.
When you change the baffles are you restricting flow enough to warrant retuning?
How much of a difference (best guess) did your baffles make in noise reduction (e.g. 10%, 50%)?
I'm interested in seeing how you did it, I'd like to give it a try myself. I like the sound of mine, but I also don't want to **** everyone in my neighborhood (and my gf's neighborhood) off. I find myself idling in/out late at night and even then I wonder if ppl are cursing me.
Thanks in advance.

Maybe like 2% quieter if that, it's more that they change the tone. They take out some of the raspy sound. If you restrict them too much to get the volume lower yes it affects tune and they will sound like ****. ( I know this through experimenting with different baffles) you might need different pipes altogether
