Picked up my first HD-FXDB and already broke it!

Your harley has probably severely over heated. I would start going over the bike. Do any of the cables show signs of melting? Did you make sure the tank has gas?
Also, a lot of people will help you faster if you post a picture of this "milf". Hope you made headway with that hour...

Anyways, I guess I should start by removing the tank and looking for damage?

Is it insured? Maybe you'll have to tow it to your nearest dealer and get it looked at.

Was just reading about the HD testing facility. They put bikes in a closed shed and let them idle for hours in high heat.

First, like izzyryder said, check the wiring that's visible under the tank, and the spark plug wires on the left side of the bike for anything that looks melted. Anything that would be affected by heat should usually be visible without removing the fuel tank.
I agree with the knuckledragger in the video - try another cap. The dealer should have one lying around they might even give you in the service dept (don't go and ask them in the showroom, they'll look at you like you have two heads, go straight to the service dept)
Top off the tank and fire it up. After any fuel or possible wiring issues, start the bike in the driveway - you don't want to take a chance on anything igniting, mainly your house or your ***.
