Fat Bob handling with ape hanger
Greetings...
Just a quick question, have anyone here replace the stock handle bar of their Fat Bob with the ape hangers, 16" or 18"?
How does it handle?
Cos as far as I know, most of the bike that has ape hanger normally used a big diameters tire. With the FB stock tire does it handles well?
any pics of FB with ape will be much appreciated. ...
cheers

How a bike handles with apes, really depends on the rider in my opinion. I feel like they give a bit more leverage, so less pressure to lean the bike over. The down side is they turn you into a parachute and cause more strain on your shoulders. I still love my apes and will ride 900 miles in a day each way to see my family.

No big issues with mine. Carlini Flyin apes with a total rise of 18 inches.
I did find from the stock bars I'd get a little wobble in the corners on a windy day but nothing I could not handle.
The only 2 downsides to apes is getting hit with wasps and such on the upper arms and explaining to the uneducated that yes, they are comfortable and the bike handles fine.
I can ride with any Harley at 80 mph (as long as I have my windshield on) all day long, get off the bike and be ready for the next day...no problem.
Remember handlebars are like high heel shoes...they belong in the air.
