Talking HD Slotted 6 Spoke Powder Gloss Black

I searched and searched for pics of these powdered in gloss black, but couldn't find any. There was one guy on another forum who did it, but the links to his pics were broken. I just knew they would look awesome in black, but had no joy with google.

I decided to risk it anyway and scored some HD 6 spoke wheels cheap a few weeks ago. I just got them back from a place the local paint and custom shops recommended, Electro Tech Coatings in San Marcos, CA.

I'm still a ways out from getting them on the bike. I need to gather up everything including new rubber as the budget allows, but here are some pics for anyone who ever wondered how they'd look all black and shiny.

EDIT (adding part numbers and prices):

43577-09 WHEEL S6S 19X2.5W FRONT BLACK $359.96
43942-07 WHEEL,BLACK SLOTTED SIX-SPOKE 17 INCH RR $359.96

Front - 25mm axle: 41455-08C
Rear - 25mm axle: 41451-08B

For 2012 and up FXDB with ABS:

Front - 25mm axle: 41454-08B
Rear - 25mm axle: 42400003
Prices from lshd1.com, but surdyke.com had the same. Both offer free shipping deals occassionally.

Thanks to Powder Pro for inspiring me to move forward with these even though I decided to stay local with the work.

More pics to follow in the coming weeks.

Thanks...I don't know exactly what prep work was done. Electro Tech said they would blast off that texture black stuff before coating, but that was all we discussed. They have a great rep around San Diego, so I trusted they would do a good job.

The gave me a military discount, $85 per wheel. I had some other quotes between $85 and $95 per wheel.
