I am confused, manual said drain the tank, why? I am doing the fuel line and filter, if I pull the pump module out from the top, why would I drain the tank? Please advice thanks Alex

The manual says to drain the tank because the top plate you will be removing is below the fill neck and would allow gas to spill out if it were full.
You should not have to completely drain the tank to replace the fuel filter. I found it to be easier if the tank is almost empty when you do the job. That way the fuel pump assembly is not dripping with gas as you manipulate it to squeeze out the top of the tank.
Hope this answers your question.

Thanks guys! I didn't drain it, the tank was 1/2. The reason they mention it is because it is easier to see the pump when tank is empty. The inline filter is like crap, also replace the strainer. I also ordered spare fuel lines, the original plastic lines are fine, inspected every section. I can only see it rubs if the factory tech didn't install it right, so I didn't bother. Took it for a ride, runs great. I call a day!
