Default DIY gauge face kit

Has anyone found a set of gauge face overlays you can buy and install yourself? Has anyone taken apart any of the newer model gauges? I wanted a tach and the local HD tech gave me a black faced tach he had laying around, which made my day...until I got home and realized I have the silver face speedo on my street bob. First world problems I suppose...

i have taken apart speedo's to coat the rings as well as change the LEDS inside, dont see why a decal maker could not print a new face and just over lay that on there, i know several companys make them as well

The Dealer gave you a tach? wow, cool.

I thought the gauges are sealed? I too am searching my options for a tach on a 2011 Street Bob. I also have the silver face speedo. Why did Harley discontinue the sliver face tach in 2007?? Cant find it anywhere. This is not my scoot but it does show what I want to accomplish using Alloy Art housing...

They're technically sealed but can be pulled apart. There's a few write ups on how to do so, patience and being pretty damn good with a soldering iron is a must here's my gauges on my 2012 street bob

I don't much care if they're both silver or black but I want them to match. Thanks for the info. I'll look up the write ups.

Right, but you cant get the tach in silver so the only other option is the buy a speedo in black. Only thing is, i dont know if they make a black speedo for the 2011 or any other year that is compatable with the 2011 wiring harness? Someone told me in here that you can place the 4" speedo made for Electra/Road Glide on a Street Bob- so... on page 632 (2014 cat), maaybe the speedo pn# 74682-10 will work for for?

It looks like my best bet is going to be pulling the gauges apart and having a decal shop make up matching faces...assuming I get them apart, does anyone know if the factory plate just lifts off or is it glued down?

The Silver gauges from my buddies 08 Street Glide look like they will drop right in my FXDX tach/speedo cups.....
