I hated the stock bars on my 01 FXD...previous owner put on forward controls but with bars that made me lean forward...that was damn uncomfortable for long rides! I went to a dealer and test rode some bikes with other style bars and I decided that the stock mini apes on a WG was a good fit for forward controls and so I got them and put them on last Christmas break...very comfortable for long rides!

Yep after 4 other different sets of bars my 8" straight up T Bars are by far the best for comfort and handling

Pardon my ignorance, but why would apes not handle as well as drag bars or t bars?

They say that the bars flex more. I have high bars and don't notice it. .... have no problems throwing my bike around with apes.

Gotta agree here I love the size of the mini apes on da bob. Combine that with them pushed a little forward, a nice low seat, forward controls and nothing feels better rolling down the road leaned back with one hand on the bars.

I wouldnt have it set up any other way.

12 in apes on 2 in. risers on my Super Glide. Can ride all day that way. Never had a problem with handling. Almost didn't put them on, until I rode my buddy's Street Bob one day, then I was sold.
