How hard do you ride most of the time? I definitely don't baby it around. I'm not full throttle all the time though either. I'd say a solid 7...Are these bikes not made for that like a sportbike is or will it be fine as long as I keep on top of regular maintenance? My buddy's with Harley's don't baby theirs AT ALL but what's the general consensus on this subject? Or am I just being paranoid about it? Haha

I'd say about a 8-9. I come from sport bikes so I tend to ride this one like one. It doesn't have the same get up and go as the gsxr I traded in for it but it seems to like me wringing its neck all the time. The only real "issue" I have is that I have to clean my air filter every 1000 miles due to the oil dripping out of it, even tho I keep the oil level on the lower side.

Around town between 3-5 but open desert roads anything up to 7-9..

Answer is: it depends. It's like asking how hot a pan do you cook food on.

After 3 tickets in 3 years I am slowing way down. Frickin CHP have become tax collectors in Cali. I was following a motorhome and got a speeding ticket. "I am not kidding". They count on you not wanting to take the time off work to fight. I think Harleys are built to hold up under hard use. Like anything you will wear them out faster if you run really hard all the time. I don't get these guys that thinking doing a burnout till your tire blows is cool. That not only costs you a 150 dollar tire, it has to be hard on the drive train also. Scale of 1-10, maybe a 5

7 when solo, 4-5 when wife is riding on the pillion.
I ride fairly hard solo, but within my limits & the bike's limits & rarely ever push it to the edge. I don't do burnout & wheelies, etc. either.
Wife on the back...I ride less aggressive, especially when cornering.

I don't go above the speed limits very often, but like to take off hard, no burnouts or spinning of the tire, that's just too hard on the drivetrain, so I would say a 6-7

Usually in the top 30% of that range. I ask myself: "Why not? What could possibly go wrong?" I always get good feedback from myself on those questions.
It cracks me up when I read that people say they don't want to take the motor over 3 grand.
