I'm sure this subject has been beaten to death but i'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on some new pipes.I'm not looking for ear ringing open exhaust nor am I looking for quiet.I have been looking at the Vance and hine big radius,big shots,and some of the 2-1 types.Could we discus advantages and disadvantages? I'm not looking to rotate the earth with this bike I just want it to run like it should and sound like a Harley.

Are you talking about the Supertrapps in the Dyna f/s section?

 

Vance and Hines big shots have the crossover pipe, that makes them probably the best performing 2-2 system.

 

+1 on the V&H Big Shots.

 

Big shots are LOUD.....even with the so called "quiet baffles"

However, one persons loud may be another persons mellow or throaty..

There are a whole bunch of videos on the net, of guys running various exhaust systems and you may get an idea of what these systems sound like before you plunk down $500/$600 clams for a system that is just too loud.

 

Check out Dragos Bike Works. They've got a 2-1 that rocks azz.

 

Attend some bike nights or visit the dealer and listen to some pipes of bikes first hand. Youtube videos sound way different than the pipe in person. Check out as many pipes as you can to determine what you feel is the right sound level for you. A set of big shots may be right for you. Just an idea so you don't spend a lot of cash experimenting.
