Default 2008-96" FatBob cams

Could I get some advice on cams for my 2008 FXDF SE A/C Heavy Breather, Vance&Hines Big Radius 2 into 2 I will be adding a tuner with a dyno tune and possibly a .030 head gaskets. Unless I have a clearance problem, then I would stay with stock gaskets. Or would I be better off going with a 107" upgrade at this time. I like to ride like I stole it, but do like to run it up on the highway every once in a while. 99* just myself. Mostly idle to 5,000 rpm. All advice appreciated, Barry

Best bang for your bucks would be a Big Bore + cams, especially if you are thinking about changing head gaskets. If you go further, then add headwork and a bigger throttle body. A ton of cam choices for both options but probably best to nail down how much you want to spend first then that will help dictate the cam choice along with where you prefer your cams to "hit" like down low or middle or higher rpms.

Thank you alansummrs, If I went with the 107, head work, and a bigger throttle body which cam would be good for this set up?

Go big + cams as alansummrs said. My cam choice for that would be Andrews 57. Talk to Scott at Hillside Performance. He'll fix you up straight.

Well I tell you, I am very close to starting this same build for me except I am starting with a 103". My plans: 107 BB, HPI 55 tb, headwork, and Genesis 577 cams. These cams are a custom grind by GMR Performance, you can go to their website if you are interested. I have studied cam specs for months now and have probably mulled over about 25 different cam sets for my build but keep coming back to the 577s. I personally want to keep my compression down around 10.1 to 10.2 and and lift to around .570 to .580 just to avoid pushing my engine too much - maintain reliability and longivity. I am probably like you - like to hot rod a bit, not too big on top speed and I rarely ride 2 up - more of a "bar hopper" build, but if I am wrong, you can tell me more about how you ride and I can spit out more cam choices. I will say my close second choice is the S&S 585s.

What would be considered the next step up from stock?
