Default Super Glide Custom? Anyone out there ride one?

Recently got taken off my XL1200C sporty by an inattentive driver. Recovering pretty well, but thinking I don't want to get back on "the bike that went down". Dunno, but I just feel like we need to part. Looking at a Dyna, super Glide Custom. Heavier than my sporty by 100 lbs (and about 200 lbs heavier than my earlier Triumph. Anyone have an opinion of the Sportster to Dyna transition? Short of leg, I like the mid-control option on the SC.

I drive one and really enjoy it. Search the Dyna Forum for SuperGlides. There is some good readings in here.

The majority of us dyna riders came from a sporty. The dyna has all the same "fun factor" but much more comfy on the freeway and at higher speeds.

Do you like chrome or black? Super Glide comes chromed and has a full rear fender.

Street Bob gets you a better start at being blacked out and has more factory paint options. It also comes stock with longer cables/wiring so if you decide to add apes or t-bars up to 14", you want have to spring for new cables.

Pretty much the same bike otherwise.

I have a superglide custom and just love it,my wife has a streetbob so I get to ride hers once in a while and theres no comparision as far as comfort is concerned, the superglide is way more comfy than the streetbob, even the wife says so,but in the end she likes her bike and I like mine, whichever way you want to go,black or chrome.

i went with the standard fxd because:
1. I got an awesome deal on it
2. I didnt want wire wheels and I like the speedo on the handlebars.

I like the 29 deg rake on the fxd/c's. They might be heavier than the sporty's but they are one of the lightest big twins.

Uh oh.
Everyone is going to get insulted if someone doesn't think their bike is the greatest.

I ride a Super Glide Custom and have for years and many miles. I will be honest about the good and bad points.

You really only posted 1 question and that was about the mid pegs.
I Love my forward controls but will admit I like it mostly for the looks and now it is habit. They actually hurt my knees after a couple of hours on the highway so...
I put the mid pegs on every time I take trip over 200 miles. It gives my feet more choices and helps me stay comfortable. I can stand up on the mid pegs to reposition too.

Post whatever questions you have if you are brave, or send me a private note with them to keep the feuds down.

I moved up form a XL 1200C to a Superglide custom and I am not sorry for the trade at all. The Superglide rides much smoother and with the mods I have done it is way faster.

Same here. Plus I like not having to clean/polish all the chrome on the super glide custom. The only bad thing about the super glide vs the super glide custom is you cant get the Harley speedo/tach combo gauge for the super glide.
