Default Torx size:Front caliper

Could you please tell me what size torx I need to take front caliper off of fork, and is it the same size as the torx bolts for front brake pads? Wanting to change fork oil and need to get it off. Thought about just buying a set, but want to make sure it's part of the set. Thanks, it's an 09 FXD.

Hmm.... did you change those bolts over to 'torx'?
My '010 caliper bolts all take a 10mm-12pt socket.

no, I didn't change them. Guess I didn't realize that there are 12pt. specific bolts. Sounds like I need one. And yes, I do feel stupid.

My '12 Fat Bob has 12 points up front too. The back caliper takes a T-40 torx.

There is a easier way to change fork oil if your interested. Just take the top caps off and siphon the oil out.

If you change the oil from the top you need to pump a few times when pumped out to get it all.
I used a 12V marine oil dip stick pump once and it went ok.
I pulled it apart the second thime around and really didn't have to as the oil and tubes were still very clean after two years.
as long as the seals are still good it easier to pop the caps off then pull it all apart.
just make sure you put in the correct amount of oil. I used 10W amsoil with the intiminators. 23 OZ. per tube, I think it's like 26 OZ stock.
