Default rear turn signal relocation

Any members here have relocated their rear turn signals? How to remove the foot long bolt for the rear turn signal? This is very shitty design from HD. Even I cut the bolt with a hacksaw, its still not enough clearance and would hit the rear tire if I remove it. It looks like I have to undo the shocks bottom bolts and lift the bike up with a hydraulic lifter. Or leave the foot long bolt and install a nut then hack the prutruding bolt.

Any one has tried another way? thanks

I lifted my bike with a floor jack to get clearance in the rear fender.
Only hassle I had was cutting wires and then reconnecting them.

Do what he said, no cutting required.

Btw You can disconnect the wires from connectors without cutting wires and resolder.

I relocated the rear turn signals in my '01 SG...piece of cake. I did not have to cut the wires but I did have to extend them and drill a hole in my rear fender for the wires to come up and into the tube...I had to think long and hard about doing that because I really didn't want to drill a hole in the fender but there was no other option and I really wanted to move the turn signals. I didn't have to jack up the bike but the clearance between the tire and the fender was tight when I had to reach up there with my hands to put in hardware and reroute the wires...but it can be done without too much problem.

I tried to tug on the wires from the connector and its feels solid. Im afraid to pull it hard and break a plastic tab or something then I have to replace connectors.

moco says in their rear turn signal relocation kit procedures to cut about 4-6 inches from the connector and crimp them back after re-routing. I think this is BS. There should be another way.

Just disconnect the wire in the tail light, then open the connector that has the wire in it and you are good to go. There are videos by Mud, a member right on this forum. It`s easy

Getting the back tire off the ground worked for me.

watch the video posted by mud. pretty easy.I did buy a couple extra connectors in case I screwed one up. I used the "easy bracket" relocation kit.I think they look better than HD's.BTW, was able to remove bolt without lifting bike.
