JRI Shocks Arrived!
My winter mods/upgrades continue. I've been looking to upgrade from the Ricor shocks I've been running for a couple years. Unfortunately, one of them is leaking oil (again) and will need to be rebuilt. I contacted Howard at Motorcycle Metal and decided to go with JRI 13" 3-way adjustable Piggyback Reservoir shocks. They have External Separate Low & High Speed Compression & Rebound Valving. I can't wait to get them installed! I'll post up pics of them installed and my ride impressions soon. For now, here are pics of the shocks right out of the box...

Overall, they are a nice improvement over stock. Besides leaking, which has happened to me on two separate occasions, once within the first few months (which Brian at Ricor rebuilt under warranty), and now again. I have also noticed that the rubber bushings on the ends seem to wear out and start to fit loosely. All in all, for the money, they have served me pretty well.

These shocks are the exact same design except for the dimensions, mounting, and actual piston design that Geoff May #99 & Aaron Yates #20 the two pilots of Team AMSOIL/Hero EBR 1190RS Factory Team has run this exact JRI shock (only one shock) in the 2013 Geico AMA SuperBike competition (AMA Pro Road Racing), and will continue running JRI’s on its factory team motorcycles now that the EBR team is departing for WSBK/World Superbike (more money and more competition) for 2014. In 2013 there were a total of 20 teams started in the Geico AMA SuperBike field, 2 Buells & 2 independent riders are running these same JRI shocks.
The Buell's are twin cylinder and have a significant disadvantage in power but are superb handling machines. How would you now estimate how they will work?
