Detachable saddlebags
I did this over the summer (2013) and to be honest I'm not sure I ever posted about it.
This is my cheapo detachable saddlebag kit using 3/8" all thread with existing docking hardware for detachable backrest.

That is exactly how I did mine last year. I bought a set of barebacks afterwards but never got around to putting them on.

Great idea, I need to do this also, would you have a pic of that low profile jam nut, don't think I have seen one.
